Ever wondered about the difference between salon-bought products in comparison to high street-bought products? Most notably there is an obvious price difference between both products and there’s good reason for it.
With a cosmetologist/beauty therapist’s accumulated training qualifications and attained knowledge, it is evident that salon products need professional guidance. The variety of products and ingredients is plentiful, and the range of intensity having an effect on the skin can be noticeable. There’s a legal barometer that determines what products are sold where. The high street products are allowed to sell a low percentage of active ingredients, whereas salon products are allowed to sell high percentages of active ingredients. Because of the considerable differences that this has on the skin the more intense reactive ingredients must be advised by a trained therapist, to ensure correct usage.
It is necessary as a Skin Therapist to give an excellent treatment by incorporating many factors to perform positive skin results, and ensure the client is feeling lovely at the end of her treatment. Essentially, clients tend to see initial effects manifest into quickly visible differences with the highest active ingredients. However, the best skin care results are known to be treated with high-quality active ingredients and/or salon-grade advances with maintenance at regular intervals. Depending on the skin condition being cared for. Fundamentally, as a therapist, one must assist reliable outcomes by choosing the best course of treatment.
Understandably, people may be enticed by high street products, and eventually realise their drive towards salon treatments too (Feinmann, 2007). Yet, it’s really about differentiating between the two. As it’s the higher degree of active ingredients along with the therapist’s knowledge, analyses, expertise and technique that will truly make the difference to the salon’s advantage. Moreover, it is valued that the holistic approach to skin therapy with professional treatments and products is what can create optimum skin effects.
It’s about feeling lovely!
